Amazon Studios is at the forefront of revolutionary changes reshaping the entertainment industry. We are integrating innovative tools and processes through all areas of the organization, including on our Amazon Originals productions. Amazon Studios is the home for talent, creating and producing original films and television series for a global audience. Original series all premiere exclusively on Amazon Prime Video, which is available in over 240 countries and territories.

The Studios Technology Services team supports production personnel (cast and crew) and Studios business teams (production operations, post production, and marketing). We work in a team environment and interact with production personnel and studio executives at all levels. Our Cloud Systems Administration team is looking for Systems Development Engineers to build, deploy, operate, and sustain our critical infrastructure and systems. The team will operationalize the stability and reliability of these systems and discover innovative ways to scale and operate them reliably as we expand. You will deploy and monitor the systems and automation to ensure that critical infrastructure is operating optimally and implement mechanisms to prevent service impacting incidents. You will utilize trends and metrics to identify opportunities for improvements within existing frameworks, tools and processes to continuously improve systems. Systems Development Engineers focus on automating infrastructure at scale and using best practice stability and reliability protocols to ensure reliability and repeatability.

Key job responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background, be detail driven, and have excellent problem-solving abilities. You will be comfortable designing, building, deploying, and operating, as well as resolving critical issues. The role will be responsible for systems functionality, performance, and optimizing configurations and the ideal candidate can demonstrate sound knowledge of scripting concepts and theory. It is important that you can earn trust of your peers and stakeholders through your body of work and day to day interactions. This role requires ambition, thinking big, self-motivation, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative, and startup-like environment.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 8+ years content production industry experience
• AWS Certified Solutions Architect professional and/or AWS Certified Developer Associate
• Experience writing complex scripts and/or object-oriented code in modern programming languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python, Golang, PowerShell
• Experience owning and contributing to architecture and design (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, a related field or 4+ years of relevant non-internship professional work experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Global IT Enterprise Organization within Media & Entertainment
• Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field
