Responsibilities:
• Create the vision for, and drive the design of, innovative solutions for our hardlines business (home, kitchen, sports)
• Strong understanding of commercial creativity, brand development, the digital landscape, and multichannel marketing concepts
• Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and creative thinking
• Mentor and inspire teams around the world, and attract/retain the best performers
• Understand and respond to promotion performance data (metric tests, usability studies), and steer the direction of future creative
• Direct and evolve the Amazon.com creative positioning (look and feel, voice, photography, etc.) on both the website and offline marketing activities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum of 8+ years of experience in Art Direction.
• Generally requires a Bachelor's degree and meaningful industry experience through practical experience and a strong portfolio.
• An online portfolio or samples of work demonstrating visual branding, online marketing, and great customer-centered design solutions.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills and the ability to gracefully defend your design decisions to executive management.
• Proven history managing multiple projects at one time to meet aggressive deadlines.
• Unwavering attention to detail and an acute awareness that everything counts.
• Relentless desire for innovation, balanced with business and user interaction priorities.
• Demonstrated business acumen and customer obsessed behavior.
• Desire and ability to work in a fast-paced online environment.
• Solid written/verbal communication skills and collaborative skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Knowledge and experience with rich media and digital advertisement creation.
• Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, Flash, HTML, CSS, and Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work cross-team and synthesize feedback from merchants, marketers, and product teams into creative direction.
• Expert understanding of the web production process; familiarity with post-production retouching.
• Strong coaching skills to provide clear creative direction and to motivate and inspire creative teams.
• Mastery of the principals of design, color theory, and graphics file creation optimized for the web.
• Approach design solutions with knowledge of style trends and customer expectations.
