Job summary
This is an exciting opportunity to work with the largest and most dynamic on and off-campus events for Amazon, and influence the way our extended audiences experience them. The candidate should be able to work in a corporate office environment, demonstrating strong organizational skills, impeccable customer service attitude, and be energetically driven to serve our customers and the team.

A successful video engineer candidate will serve as onsite and offsite production support, being able to design, program and operate live events ranging from ballroom style meetings to concerts and special events. Successful candidate will have a diverse background as a live production engineer demonstrating deep systems knowledge, strong organizational and interpersonal skills, and the ability to keep calm, focused and confident in a production environment. A successful candidate will have an impeccable focus and drive to constantly improve the customer experience.

Key job responsibilities
• Operate, monitor, and adjust video and livestream/broadcast equipment to ensure consistent quality
• Install video equipment in hotels, conference rooms, and convention centers
• Ability to flex into secondary Audio and lighting roles as needed
• Design, program and operate live events with autonomy, taking the customers' ideas and delivering an outstanding product.
• Promptly, thoroughly, professionally communicate with team, customers, and business partners.
• Report any problems that arise with complex equipment and make routine repairs
• Understand and draft signal flow diagrams, retain data/records of and equipment used.
• Contribute as a subject matter expert in the field of event/entertainment.
• Search out opportunities to help others improve skillsets and knowledge base.
• Ensure industry best practices are followed with a safety first mindset.

Pre-event:
• Organize allocated equipment based on event needs.
• Assist in the transportation to event space whether onsite or offsite.
• Handle equipment changes in a timely and professional manner.
• Thorough testing of equipment use cases ahead of event.
• Flawless communication with organizer to determine technical needs.

Event execution:
• V1 technical services for assigned events.
• Ability to flex to secondary support roles as needed
• Optimizing systems for the best quality attainable.
• Technical leadership of the lighting and lighting teams.
• Dynamically flex to customer needs and changes.

Post-event:
• Assist with strike of event space(s), ensuring correct equipment handling and storage.
• Participate in post-event feedback discussions/surveys.

A day in the life
A Production Engineer's role is to operate production equipment during live events that are hosted by our internal Amazon customers experienced by internal or external attendees. The Production Engineer will work alongside Producers, peers and customers to deliver high quality event experiences in on and/or offsite locations. This work will encompass all stages of the event process including production planning, set, execution and strike. Production Engineers will travel regionally to provide operational support for events taking place outside of Amazon's campus as needed.

About the team
The Event Production team provides high touch, high quality event production support to internal Amazon customers who require the services of a dedicated team of event production engineers. The Off Campus team specifically supports events taking place outside of Amazon event venues, and will travel globally to support customer needs. The Event Production team culture is built around providing the highest possible quality customer support during each event, and works to customize each event to provide the maximum results and satisfaction for each customer.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 3+ experience in event production
• Positive, team-minded and 'can do' attitude, willing to jump in anywhere.
• Strong understanding of live event processes.
• Background in event AV, especially in video and control systems.
• Familiarity with Ross video switchers and control software.
• Proficiency with video, truss builds and staging systems.
• Focused, organized and effective in stressful environments.
• Knowledge of MS Office suite.
• Adaptive and flexible.
• Resourceful and quick to take initiative.
• Prioritization while multi-tasking under pressure and within short time constraints.
• Capable of staying on task when alone, but also interface well with customers and team members.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to occasionally adjust work schedule to business needs.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and move quickly between locations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 2 – 4 year degree in A/V, technical theater or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Deep understanding of Ross video systems.
• Experience with video conferencing and live streaming equipment.
• Experience with OBS and/or Wirecast software use cases.
• Knowledge of using Twitch, Facebook, and other platforms as a live streaming service.
