Job Description
Amazon Digital Music is looking for an experienced Principal, Content Acquisition to join our Record Label Licensing Team. The executive will lead global licensing negotiations and strategy, including leading negotiations with major record labels, driving/building complex models to forecast business metrics, evaluating the impacts of negotiated royalty structures and proactively performing analytic deep dives across a variety of key performance indicators. The executive will maintain and drive Amazon's relationships with key record labels and will be responsible for developing content strategy, securing new content and additional rights, and performing competitive monitoring.

This position can be based in Brooklyn NY, Culver City CA, and/or San Francisco CA.

Key job responsibilities
• Determine record label licensing strategy in relation to new projects and initiatives
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with key record labels at decision-making level
• Negotiate license agreements to secure all necessary rights from record labels, and expand existing agreements as needed
• Perform analysis to quantify the impact of royalty models, and other terms that are negotiated terms with record labels globally
• Collaborating with the legal team to review contractual terms and conditions relating to licensing agreements
• Partner with internal Finance/Content Analytics teams to evaluate our deal terms across service tiers and territories
• Audit business metrics, perform deep dive analysis on problems to understand root causes and making decisions based on data
• Monitor the competitive landscape to help inform Amazon Music's strategic priorities and expansion opportunities

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 8+ years of account management, business development, content licensing or finance experience
- 8+ years of developing, negotiating and executing business agreements experience
- Bachelor's degree

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of account management, business development, content licensing or finance experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $132,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $246,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
