The Global Brand Marketing team within Amazon Music is looking for a driven and dynamic individual to lead the evolution of our social media measurement and social insights roadmap. The Senior Manager of Social Media Measurement & Insights will be an essential leader of the team with broad analytical and digital research responsibilities. In this role, you will help to drive global brand marketing strategy for Amazon Music by delivering best-in-class social media measurement strategies leading to actionable insights at scale. This role will sit within the Brand Strategy & Insights team but will partner closely with the Social Media, Paid Media and Integrated Marketing teams. You will bring experience monitoring, understanding, optimizing, engaging and influencing digital communities. The ideal candidate should have a strong foundation in interacting with raw data and disparate conversations, translating and simplifying complex information, have a keen eye for detail, a solid understanding of creating audience-first content and a passion for social media. The Brand Marketing team works closely with senior leaders across Amazon, and has a high degree of visibility within the organization, so this role requires a commitment to goals, proactive examination, and a relentless focus on the customer.
To be successful in this role, this individual needs to thrive in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, know how to juggle multiple priorities, and navigate and partner with a large set of internal and external stakeholders. The candidate needs a deep understanding of social media culture and trends, including knowledge of social platform and community behavior. You will be a self-starter, comfortable with ambiguity in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, and able to think creatively and deliver results. The successful candidate will have a strong sense of ownership and communicate clearly and persuasively.
Key job responsibilities
• Develop measurement and insights plans to support ongoing social strategies and campaigns that iterate and optimize audience engagement and grow our business and brand
• Own the quality and vision of the Social Media Strategy & Insights team's work and represent the best practices of the team to both internal and external partners
• Implement and codify a measurement and insights roadmap for both short-term and long-term priorities related to social media strategy
• Partner with team leads to define and implement test and learn plans to enhance content strategy across platforms and ensure performance is consistent with our business goals
• Set up social listening and community management tools to track campaign efficacy and monitor brand health
• Develop strategic recommendations on audience segmentation and targeting in social environments
• Create social measurement dashboards for day-to-day tracking and management
• Manage agency partners, including community monitoring and assessment, reporting and resourcing
• Bring big ideas to the table, and inspire others to deliver bar-raising, best in class ideas and plans, obtaining buy-in and effectively and efficiently implementing ideas at scale through strategic programs and initiatives
• Architect and imagine future measurement capabilities in light of ever-changing data landscape
• Collaborate closely with team members in other Data & Insights teams across Amazon Music
• Present to senior leadership regularly to update on key metrics such as brand health, consumer trends, etc and progress to goals
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 9+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience
• Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams
• Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs
• Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements
• Experience using Microsoft Excel to manipulate and analyze data
• Experience presenting metrics and progress to goal to senior leadership
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• MBA or further business, marketing or analytical education
• Relevant brand and social media strategy experience, preferably with youth-oriented campaigns or brands
• Advanced decision-making skills with proven ability to lead, influence, align and inspire teams, including those who are not direct reports
• Operates with significant autonomy
• Highly data-driven possessing strong ability to use insights to frame recommendations and results into concise and actionable reports
• Impeccable written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate with all levels in the organization-technical, business, creative, and executive.
• Background or passion for the entertainment industry, especially Music and Podcasts.
• Capable of multi-tasking and handling complex projects at once amidst rapidly-changing priorities and comfortable dealing with ambiguity.
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to work on a diverse team or with a diverse range of coworkers.
