Job Description
Reporting to the Vice President of Streaming. Responsible for the overall content strategy, editorial, programming, financial, aesthetic and day-today-management of ABC News Live (ABCNL). Strong collaboration with multiple partners to drive the growth of ABCNL across O&Os and third party distribution partners.

Responsibilities:

Editorial & Programming - Responsibilities & Requirements
• Execute the long term strategic content planning from the SVP/VP of streaming leadership teams that are editorially and technically sound, while ensuring resources are allocated appropriately for day to day operations and future growth
• The editorial and programming lead for ABCNL and accountable for the overall editorial accuracy
• Collaboration at all levels across ABC News, Disney+, Hulu to meet channel metrics goals including monthly, yearly MAUs and overall channel growth on O&Os and third party platforms
• Collaborate with newsgathering to ensure that resources are allocated for ABCNL immediate coverage needs and planning for future and long term coverage
• Partner and collaborate with show staffs and platforms to maximize the use of all ABC News content
• Collaborate and build consensus into order to achieve editorial goals
• Collaborating with research for content and growth analysis when testing new features and content (QR codes, new content shows/blocks) with goal of sharing and presenting analysis to ABCNL and adjacent teams

Financial Tracking Accountability
• Responsible for channel's working budget - ensuring all areas adhere to the designated financial allocation and tracking expenditures to operate within budget parameters
• Work closely with finance to develop short and long term planning goals and needs based on channel growth – accountable for managing headcount needs to revenue potential and forecasting
• Plan for strategic programming growth opportunities based on audience demand, revenue growth and competitive marketplace analysis
• Manage the relationship with the Disney Media & Entertainment Distribution (DMED) teams in charge of distribution, partner relationships, audience growth and engagement, analytics, and sales
• Collaborate with marketing, PR, promotion on strategies that will propel the channel forward and establish awareness in the marketplace

UX/Aesthetic/Product Oversight
• Establish and maintain the creative look, feel and mission of the entire channel while keep an eye on evolving product to maximize growth
• Ensure that ABCNL adheres to the high quality premium standards set forth by ABC News and Disney
• Collaborate and guide the graphics department on new and innovative ideas that drive channel differentiation amongst traditional and digital competitors, while staying with the ABC News brand ethos
• Build strong relationship and collaboration with standards to evolve channel

Personnel Management
• Maintain oversight and management of all ABCNL EPs; coach, mentor to create opportunities for growth for each day part EP
• Partner with HR to manage and oversee all hiring and personnel needs; reviews and regular feedback cadence
• Develop and foster a diverse and inclusive workplace that values the individual strengths and contributions of our most valuable asset, our employees, and that can only come from a professional environment that properly reflects the greater community in which we live and in which we seek to serve
• Work with the studio and control room management teams to ensure ABCNL needs are represented as the channel grows, as well as when it comes to current and future building plans
• Partner with ABC Affiliate relations in order to build future partnerships between ABCNL, ABC network and the affiliates

Basic Qualifications:
• 15+ years' production experience working in live programming
• Leadership experience at a 24/7 live news channel and/or newsgathering
• Executive-level presentation and communication skills
• Expertise in translating analytics to action for editorial groups
• Demonstrated success building, engaging and leading a large, diverse team

Required Education
• BA or BS from a four year accredited college or university
