Job Overview
Disney Entertainment is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis Manager to support ABC News. This person will partner with the leadership of multiple Newsgathering teams including the Domestic & International bureaus, Newsone, and the Specialized Units, to deliver on the strategic, financial and operational goals of ABC News. The Manager will lead the Long-Range Plan, Annual Operating Plan, forecasts and quarterly close processes, provide detailed analysis to the larger Disney Entertainment finance teams, and present results to senior leadership of the ABC News brands. The successful candidate is experienced in expense management and can translate data into sound business recommendations to enable ABC News editorial leaders to make nimble, actionable decisions. The ability to manage multiple projects and collaborate with multiple Business Partners across the Disney Entertainment finance teams and ABC News creative teams will be critical to success. The position will report to the Financial Planning and Analysis Senior Manager of Newsgathering and will manage two Senior Financial Analysts.

Responsibilities
• Manage the Long-Range Plan, Annual Operating Plan, Forecasts and Quarterly Close processes
• Support the day to day financial operations of ABC News
• Prepare labor budgets and forecasts for full time ABC News staff
• Prepare labor related journal entries at quarter close
• Analyze forecast information to ensure accuracy, identify trends, and develop key storylines
• Analyze all aspects of spending to identify opportunities for cost control
• Prepare reports on financial performance, forecast, and budget to communicate performance to Business Partners
• Provide insight on trends and financial history to Business Partners in order to enable informed decision making
• Partner with ABC News Finance team members to identify and establish best practice and consistent analysis across products
• Develop and track KPI's for editorial and operations by creating processes to instill a culture of proactive cost discipline
• Collaborate with editorial and operations team to create and manage budgets for special news events; post event review and settlement of event costs
• Champion a culture of creativity, collaboration, diversity, and innovation
• Be an essential resource for the Business Partners; an integral part of the decision making team
• Mentor and develop three Senior Financial Analysts
Position Qualifications
• Advanced financial modeling skills and analytical skills
• Strong technical skills: Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and SAP. Experience with Cognos TM1 is a plus
• Deliverable-focused, strong work ethic, able to prioritize and resolve an array of issues simultaneously
• Innovative orientation with a proactive approach to problem solving
• Excellent written and verbal communication skill
Preferred Qualifications
• Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience, ideally past experience leading / mentoring staff
• Previous experience in entertainment/media industry FP&A
Required Education
• Bachelor Degree – Finance, Accounting or Economics; MBA in related field or CPA preferred
The hiring range for this position in NY is $125,928.00-$157,410.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
