Job Description
This position will report to the Copy Specialist, will act in the capacity of the Copy Specialist, and will be accountable for the general success of the ABC OTVS traffic team. As part of this function, the Copy Specialist is prepared to embrace training in other traffic functions. The primary responsibilities will be involved with the copy process for the team's stations, as well as overall accountability of superior log production across the team. The Copy Specialist will also be expected to work closely with the other teams' specialists in order to share inventory information, improve standardization, and share best practices.
The success of the Copy Specialist will be measured by accuracy of logs, quality control of incoming broadcast materials, overall management of copy, and achieved best practices and improved standardization in WideOrbit. The Copy Specialist may be required to work hours within a range of M-F 8am-8pm EST, as required by the business hours of the market assigned to the specialist. Working with the OCTO team on company initiatives and direction will be required.

Responsibilities:
• Responsible for all copy and quality control of incoming broadcast materials for stations on team, which are set up to maintain thorough coverage of stations in multiple time zones.
• Ensures accuracy of copy and log prep for all ABC OTVS stations.
• Enforces comprehensive quality control process for incoming broadcast materials.
• Work with station contacts to manage WideOrbit and standardized practices within the system.
• Educated on sales requirements for each market, to ensure log compliance, to report revenue correctly, and to keep automation and master control operations consistent with what is necessary to stay on the air.
• Maintains a very high standard of accuracy on traffic information provided by clients, and also maintains an exceptional standard of customer service provided to those clients.
• Adhere to OCTO guidelines and work with the station on copy-related deadlines, preemptions, reinstates, time shifts, etc.
• Work closely with other OCTO specialists on quality of logs; troubleshoot log issues with OCTO Specialists, specialists, and station contacts.
• Proactively work with the above contacts to achieve better streamlining and standardization of materials.
• Training on log elements within WO for contacts at the station sites, to help them operate more efficiently and be better poised for standardized procedures.
• Working with a team of inventory specialists to maintain OCTO/station expectations on outstanding quality and accuracy of logs.
• Work with OCTO management on areas of copy concern, and keep management informed of the status of information that might impact revenue.
• Mentor specialists on best practices regarding quick and effective material management.
• Assist with the OCTO mission statement to help enhance the revenue opportunities for the stations, and to help provide best practices that both maximize revenue and improve operating conditions.
• Regularly confer with other OCTO management team and stations to share ideas and confer on best practices
• Provide a superb level of customer service to the ABC OTVS stations, as well as outside clients.
• Work with OCTO management on testing of new WO software releases, and to provide feedback on those releases and other enhancements needed in WO.
Basic Qualifications:
• Minimum 1 years of traffic or relevant experience
• Experience in multiple traffic functions, especially copy and log production.
Operational knowledge of promotions and master control functions preferred.
• Familiarity with broadcast sales protocol, and has exceptional standards and expectations for accurate material management on logs.
• Ability to communicate effectively, especially via phone and email.
• Able to conduct team meetings and conference calls.
• WideOrbit experience desired, but knowledge of other traffic systems considered.
• Excel, Word, and PowerPoint experience required.
Required Education
• High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Education
• Bachelors degree
