Associate Producer

Job Description

You will report directly to the ABC News London Bureau Chief, The Deputy Bureau Chief, and the Assignment Manager for the International News desk. You will be based in the ABC London Bureau as a TV Associate News Producer creating and developing content for all ABC News programs and platforms.

The Opportunity & Responsibilities:
• Providing production support to the ABC News Assignment Desk as well as assisting producers and correspondents on assignments in the field.
• Writing stories for ABC News Digital platforms.
• Identifying, researching, and pitching stories, making editorial calls, and monitoring video feeds for the entire News Division.
• Travel domestically and internationally at short notice as assigned by the International News desk.

The Experience We Require From You:
• Prior experience in a broadcast or digital newsroom
• Good level of production and technical skillset for TV producing in the field, live transmissions, and general production
• Knowledge of news standards and practices
• Team player able to work well alongside editorial and production teams in different countries and locations under pressure
• Excellent multi-tasker with attention to detail
• Availability to work flexible schedules/extended hours/weekends, evenings, overnights
