Director - Casting (ABC Entertainment)

ABC Entertainment is seeking a dynamic Director of Casting who thrives in a high-energy, team-oriented creative environment. This position is based in Los Angeles and will oversee casting for the network's scripted pilots and series by collaborating and providing expert guidance to network / studio executives, casting directors and producers throughout the casting process.

Responsibilities
• Oversee the casting process on all assigned scripted ABC network pilots and series.
• Design casting strategy and create targeted star-level lists for all projects.
• Consult with producers and internal executives on suitability of talent.
• Partner with Business Affairs and colleagues to guide negotiations of talent deals.
• Collaborate with the broader Walt Disney Television casting team to forge synergy with talent across all brands.
• Lead the casting and production of annual Disney Television Discovers Talent Showcase, along with other inclusion initiatives and workshops for underrepresented talent with the ABC Casting team.
• Stay current with technology trends in our industry and explore opportunities to incorporate technology into our casting process.
• Join development pitches with talent attachments and scout talent through attending theater, festivals, and showcases for future casting ideas.
• Cultivate strategic relationships with talent, agents, managers, producers, directors, and casting directors.

Basic Qualifications
• 7 + years of experience in the Media/Entertainment industry with direct involvement in casting for scripted productions.
• Major studio and streamers inhouse casting experience at the senior levels highly desirable.
• Experience with managing multiple projects concurrently and thriving under pressure required.
• Experience working across various business groups: such as Development, Business Affairs, Finance, Publicity, Marketing, and Legal.
• Demonstrated strong teamwork skills and the ability to guide and lead within ambiguity.
• Must live within a commutable distance to Burbank, CA. (role is in office 4 days a week)
• A proactive attitude with the ability to identify needs and take initiative for their completion.
• Ability to assume ownership and excel both as part of a team or independently.
• Experience with discreetly handling confidential and sensitive information.
• Strong relationships with talent and key stakeholders within the creative process.
• Adaptability in a dynamic environment, requiring skillful multitasking and creative problem-solving.
• Flexibility to work a variable schedule, including overtime and weekends on short notice.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications
• Proficiency with IMDBpro, Studio System, PIX, DAX, CastIt, QwireCast are preferable.

Education
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience.

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $112,100.00 to $150,200.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
