A&E Television Networks, LLC seeks a Web Applications Developer in New York, New York. The position is responsible for for developing front-end and server-side code to build highly scalable, interactive websites and apps using JavaScript, Handlebars.js, Node.js, React, Next.js, MongoDB, and GraphQL.

MORE ABOUT WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Specific duties include: Serve as the technical lead for development initiatives for our sites; managing web development lifecycle including design, development, testing, and deployment; build websites responsive web design that can be leveraged across multiple devices including tablets and phones; research new technologies, methodologies, architecture patterns so as to select the correct solution depending on the need; assess areas of re-use and architect solutions that can be easily integrated across products; ensure that solutions are architected and implemented to scale; write logic in the appropriate programming language to meet the functional requirements; ensure the appropriate test cases are implemented; ensure proper documentation of code before the code is deployed to production; and provide all required development and operational support to ensure the web site is performing to standards while ensuring stability.

Must have a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or a related technical field of study. plus five (5) years of experience in job offered or as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, Engineer, Software Security Specialist or a related role in the field of software development.

Must have:
One year of experience in web-based applications; Experience developing Web Applications, including understanding web protocols like HTTP & server technologies; like Node.js; Experience making interactive web applications using programming languages like HTML, Javascript & CSS, including frameworks like React & Next.js.; Experience with MongoDB, MySQL and other databases to make dynamic web applications; Experience writing Unit Tests with tools like Mocha & JEST; Experience with other programming languages like Java and/or PHP; Experience working with REST & GraphQL services; Experience in building secure, accessible and performant web applications; Understanding and application knowledge of Application Architecture, CI/CD to solve real-world problems of running high volume websites and web applications; and Strong experience with AGILE & SCRUM methodologies.
