Counsel, Visual Effects & Virtual Production

This executive will coordinate with other internal departments and external partners to ensure the legal and business affairs requirements of all productions and development projects are met.
Job responsibilities include structuring, drafting, negotiating, and tracking of all production agreements including development, shopping, production services agreements, format licenses, rights acquisition, participant, talent and showrunner agreements, and clearance related agreements including locations, clips, materials, music, licenses and appearance releases.
Additionally, the position will supervise day to-day production legal work for development, presentations, pilots, specials and series; provide complex risk assessment for all production related matters; perform legal research; interact with all departments and productions on a wide variety of business and legal matters including diligence, clearances, IP, risk management and legal procedures; and closely track all obligations, rights, and option expirations.
• Must be in good standing with CA Bar

• Proactive, results driven and works under pressure to meet deadlines
• Attention to detail, an organized self-starter and able to work independently
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• A team player, with a great work ethic and the ability to maintain confidentiality
• Minimum of 3 years work experience in unscripted television production
Education: JD from an accredited institution preferred
