Intern - News, WLEX

Our News internship at WLEX-TV in Lexington KY provides students with real-world experience and a unique insight into the news environment at a highly successful local TV station. This position includes working alongside news staff and creates opportunities to learn about news coverage and production on multiple platforms, including broadcast and digital.
Our internship is paid. In addition, a stipend to offset relocation or travel expenses (if necessary) is provided.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
• Hands-on work in all facets of news reporting and production
• Create content for multiple platforms
• Gain experience in a competitive environment
• Learn broadcast writing and editing skills
• Opportunity to go out in the field with crews to observe news gathering in the field
• Other duties as assigned

WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
• Enrollment at accredited university as sophomore or above and in good academic standing
• Ability to receive course credit for internship program
• Be available to work June-August 2024 (specific dates TBD)
• Be able to relocate to the market, if necessary

WHAT YOU'LL BRING
• Strong desire to learn and succeed in the industry
• Ability to work as part of a team
