Job Title: Accounting Operations Internship- Summer 2020
A little bit about our team:
The Finance Department is based in WMG's Center of Excellence for Shared Services in Nashville, Tennessee (the ''Center''). The Center is currently home to team members affiliated with four different business service organizations: The U.S. Legal Shared Services organization (or ''LSS''), the U.S. Finance Shared Services organization (or ''FSS''), the Global Data Organization, and WEA Corp. (WMG's distribution company). Employees of the Center provide services to all of WMG's U.S. record labels, Warner Chappell Music Publishing, WEA Corp. and Alternative Distribution Alliance (WMG's distribution companies), and WMG's other U.S. business units.
The Finance Department is responsible for managing all the center's accounting and cash management functions. As a critical component of the Finance department, the Accounting Operations Group provides accounting services and support to WMG's US record labels and businesses.

This position offers a unique opportunity to learn about all aspects of accounting, offering hands on experience working with some of the most innovative record labels while working hand in hand with other departments, managers, and label finance teams.
Here you'll get to:
• You will perform tasks and analyses required for monthly/quarterly financial reporting for US business units;
• You will perform tasks as part of the monthly close process, including preparing journal entries, monitoring sub-ledger interfaces and ensuring the timely analysis, preparation, and submission of close-related deliverables;
• You will perform accounting and financial analyses related to Label artist and copyright royalty expense; and
• You will exercise analytical skills in performing responsibilities and preparing deliverables.
Rockstar candidates will meet the following requirements:
• Are currently an Accounting major;
• Demonstrate excellent verbal and written skills;
• Demonstrate strong computer skills and proficiency using Microsoft Office's Excel, Word and PowerPoint applications;
• Work well independently and as part of a team;
• Commit to working up to 30 hours per week;
• Multi-task, prioritize, and recognize when to ask for direction;
• Demonstrate that you are driven, resourceful, innovative, forward thinking and committed;
• Handle stressful situations and various personalities diplomatically; and
• Interact professionally with coworkers and customers.
It would be music to our ears if you also:
• Are currently pursuing an Associates, Bachelor's or Graduate Degree;
• Are a senior or graduate level student;
• Have completed at least two previous internships in the music, media, entertainment, or tech industries;
• Have an outgoing personality who is comfortable with working amongst a large number of people in an open floor plan environment
