Your New Role...

The Global Streaming Strategy Team is responsible for the development and execution of global strategic plans for Warner Bros. Discovery streaming initiatives (including Max, HBO Max, and Discovery+). As part of the larger Streaming and Interactive organization, the team executes detailed qualitative and quantitative analysis to further the strategic priorities of our streaming platforms.

We are looking for an intern who will provide strategic support on various projects covering Max, HBO Max, Discovery+, and other streaming / direct-to-consumer initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Global Streaming Strategy, the Intern will work on strategic projects for the Streaming and Interactive organization, specifically with a focus on providing strategic support for cross-functional initiatives as well as the Sports, Content, Product, and Tech functions for Max, HBO Max, and Discovery+. These projects include consumer-facing strategies for Max, high-impact enterprise-wide special projects and initiatives, the development of Warner Bros. Discovery's streaming strategy for sports, and deliverables for senior management. This role requires a high level of collaboration with partners in various business units across Warner Bros. Discovery.

Your Role Accountabilities...
• Provide strategic and analytical support on major initiatives, specifically by partnering with operating teams across Streaming and Interactive (including Content, Marketing, Product, and Tech functions), Sports, and other divisions (namely, Distribution and Ad Sales) to achieve the strategic goals of Warner Bros. Discovery and its streaming platforms
• Create executive-ready presentations to summarize key findings, recommendations, and evaluations of strategic opportunities
• Develop consumer-facing strategies to drive streaming growth, including partnering closely with the Sports, Content, Marketing, and Product teams
• Maintain advanced knowledge of industry and consumer trends and apply insights to crafting recommendations on growth initiatives and assessing new business opportunities
• Collaborate with internal partners such as Sports, Content, Research, Data Analytics / Science, Product, Marketing, Technology, Finance, Distribution, and Ad Sales in support of initiatives
• Provide support for both Warner Bros. Discovery and Streaming senior management, including strategy reviews, executive presentations, and other management-level deliverables

Qualifications & Experience...
• Must be actively enrolled in a US accredited college or university MBA degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
• Must be a 1st year MBA student
• Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above GPA)
• All 2024 MBA interns will be selected from the attendees of the in-person (held in Burbank, CA) or virtual MBA treks. All eligible applicants must attend 1 of the trek dates.
• Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner Bros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States.
• Experience preferred in a combination of management consulting, investment banking, and/or the Media, Technology, or Telecom practice
• Mastery of Excel and PowerPoint is strongly preferred

Nice to Haves...
• Experience with streaming, subscription, and/or sports businesses preferred
• Strong communication skills and a keen eye for presentation design with the ability to distill complex concepts and analyses into clear, easy-to-understand presentations for senior executives
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage many stakeholders and multiple simultaneous asks
• Passionate about media and entertainment with a voracious appetite for industry news (e.g. on content, streaming services, linear ecosystem, advertising evolution, sports landscape)
• Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative DNA
• High level of integrity, strong work ethic, deep intellectual curiosity, and out-of-the-box thinking
• Experience using modeling and analysis to inform key business decisions
• Ability to thrive and take initiative in fast-paced, ambiguous situations

And finally, what to know before applying:
• The duration of the program is 10-12 weeks depending on the student's availability
Program dates:
• Option #1: 6/3/2024- 8/16/2024
• Option #2: 6/10/2024- 8/23/2024
• Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.
• Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.
• The recruiting process will take place from November through February. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.

In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The rate listed is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Rate: $50 per hour USD for Global Corporate Strategy MBA internships, $45 per hour USD for all other departments.
