Job Description
Overview of the internshipsWe have multiple Music internship opportunities available. By applying to this posting, you will be considered for all internship opportunities within this area. These internships will be located in the LA area. The selected interns will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern manager ' s in office schedule.
This could include, but is not limited to:
• Warner Bros. Television Music 100% In Person Intern: LA - Spring 2025 (If possible, in order to align with the team's schedule, the team would prefer for their intern to work 3 days/week in office)
• Warner Bros. Pictures Music Library Intern: LA - Spring 2025 (Note: this role will require the intern to be available to work 2-3 FULL or HALF days in-office)

Your Role Accountabilities
Duties could include:
• Opportunity to help creative team with media submissions from major and independent music publishers and record labels to expand digital library
• Assist Creative team with script breakdowns
• Help with music searches for network, cable TV, and streaming productions when applicable
• Assist music clearance in closing out episode packets and entering info in database
• Research publisher and recording ownership on songs requested for clearance
• Contribute to General creative and clearance organization
• Our intern will work on various projects to hone in their music supervision and music clearance skills. The projects could be similar, but not limited to: music script breakdowns, how to create a music budget, cue sheet research, music metadata & database management projects, etc.
• Organizing sheet music
• Packing sheet music for long term storage
• Ripping CD's
• CD and Document filing
• Creating lists and checking library inventory
• Assisting keep the library organized
• Answering the phone and taking messages
• Picking up and delivering items (such as hard drives or music) to other areas of the WB lot
• Assist in metadata upkeep and ingestion in the label's library system
• Audit information in the label's distribution portal
• Pull and format streaming reports
• Assist in managing the label's physical product inventory
• Write copy for social media posts
• Assist with label's YouTube channel management
• Observe and participate in team meetings
• Attend weekly staff music meetings
• Read scripts and complete music breakdowns
• Research publisher and recording ownership on songs requested for clearance
• Assist with project specific tasks from the WaterTower Music group
• Compile and distribute music playlists
• Gather updated rosters of composers, artists, songwriters, music producers, music editors, label talents and music supervisors
• Other duties as needed
Qualifications & Experience
• Have a passion for music and film and an interest in learning more about the industry
• Ability to read/write standard musical notation (*required for Warner Bros. Pictures Music Library role)
• Majoring in Music Composition (*required for Warner Bros. Pictures Music Library role), Music (for WaterTower Music role), or Music Business or Music Industry (for WBTV 100% In Person Music role)
• Available to work in-office for 3 days/week (*required for WBTV 100% In Person role)
• Available to work in-office for 2-3 FULL OR HALF days (*required for WB Pictures Music Library)
• Experience playing an instrument in an orchestra/ composing music for orchestra (*required for Warner Bros. Pictures Music Library role)
• Extremely detail-oriented
• Excellent organization skills
• Ability to multitask - work with multiple team members on separate projects
• Have a solid understanding of metadata and its role in the music business (*required for WaterTower Music role)
• Have the ability to work in a hybrid working environment (mix of home and office)
• Be proficient with Microsoft Excel, Teams, and file sharing platforms (Box, Dropbox, etc).
• Be able to work with and maintain confidential data and information
• Must be computer literate and proficient in MS Word, Excel, Mac, Adobe Acrobat & Spotify
• Must be able to maintain confidential information
• Must be able to prioritize tasks
• Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Must be actively enrolled in a n accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required )
• Must be a rising Junior or Senior (18 years or older)
• Must be in academic good standing (3.0 or above cumulative GPA) A transcript will be required to verify your GPA if an offer is extended.
• Warner Bros. Discovery will only consider candidates who are presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and who will not require work visa sponsorship from Warner B ros. Discovery now or in the future in order to retain their authorization to work in the United States. Candidates currently on any student or exchange visa, including F-1 CPT, F-1 OPT, J-1, M-1, etc., will not be eligible for the internship program.

• Music production experience a plus for Warner Bros. Pictures Music Library role

• The duration of the program is 1 2 weeks
Program dates:
• Start Date: January 2 7 th
• End Date: April 1 8 th
• Interns will be expected to work 16-24 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.
• Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required ; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided .
• Interviewing will take place from
October through December . A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.
