Our Internship Program dives into the craft, technology, and operations behind our animated films while developing your skills and connecting you to industry mentors. Find yourself immersed in hands-on projects and learning guided by our developers, engineers, artists, and production managers. You'll learn what it means to be a part of a collaborative team and how your unique talents can grow within our studio.

For our 2022 programs, we are committed to providing mentorship and development. Walt Disney Animation Studios' Internship Program provides emerging talent with an immersive view of animation through educational seminars on craft and filmmaking, reinforced by individual and technical projects.

Responsibilities:

As part of a small team focused on Story and Editorial tools, you will be integrated into the team and work alongside the current developers. You will not be working on a carve-out project but picking up tasks appropriate to your experience as part of a team. The goal of this internship is to give you exposure to the full development and support cycle of large decade-old macOS projects along with much newer iPad-based tools.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for macOS and iPadOS development and demonstrate this work with examples. They should bring with them a curious mind and fresh insight into the challenges we face. They should contribute to our team's knowledge base and studio culture.

Projects Include:
• Screenplay logging tool used at Disney Animation, Disney Television Animation, and Marvel Studios
• macOS and iPadOS Story tools

Basic Qualifications:

KEY QUALIFICATIONS/EXPECTATIONS
• Proficiency in C++
• Experience with macOS and iPadOS frameworks
• Experience with Objective-C and Swift
• Familiar with Python

Preferred Qualifications:

BONUS QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience with the Editorial and/or Story process
• Familiarity with OpenTimelineIO (OTIO)

Required Education

Currently enrolled undergraduate student studying Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, Software Engineering or related field at an accredited college/university and returning to school following the internship.

Additional Information:
• At the time of application, must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
• Must be at least 18 years of age
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization
• Must provide full work availability
• Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are May/June - August/September 2022. Interns must be fully available for the duration of a 12-week assignment.
• Please note, the safety and well-being of our teams is very important to us. Based on government recommendations, we will determine whether this program will be in-person at our Burbank, CA studio or virtual in the coming months.
