Summer Intern - Studios Sound Design

Job Description

Who is Turner Studios Sound Design? We do sound! We create, edit, and mix sound effects, music, and dialogue.

We work closely with all of the WarnerMedia brands, Turner Studios Editorial department, and Turner Studios Design/Visual Effects department to create compelling and creative sound design for our promos, programming elements, and shows. Our composers create original music for WarnerMedia projects. We edit and mix projects for internal and corporate presentations. We record and edit voiceovers and podcasts in the studio or via ISDN or VoIP.

The Job
• We do SOUND! We create, edit, and mix sound effects, music, and dialogue.
• We work closely with all of the WarnerMedia brands, Turner Studios Editorial department, and Turner Studio Design/Visual Effects department to create compelling and creative sound design for our promos, programming elements, and shows.
• We create original music for Turner projects.
• We sound design projects for internal and corporate presentations.

The Daily

What will my job be like at Turner Studios? You'll be creating! You'll be learning. You'll be recording, editing, and mixing.
• You'll learn from the talented Sound Design team that works with each WarnerMedia brand: TNT, TBS, Cartoon Network, TCM, Turner Sports, and more.
• You'll record VO with talent locally and from all over the country.
• You'll record and edit audio for podcasts.
• You'll expand your knowledge of signal flow, digital audio workstations, and the sonic branding of our WarnerMedia partners.
• You'll be a part of a junior staff team that works on an original project from concept to completion and then shows that project to all of Turner Studios.

The Essentials

• We need you to have extensive knowledge of Pro Tools and post-production audio for video.
• We need you to understand file-based workflows.
• We need you to be comfortable reaching out to others in order to learn and incorporating feedback from peers and producers.
• We need you to be able to recognize opportunities to be helpful.

Summer 2020 program dates are June 1st through August 7th. Interns are paid a competitive-wage based on location and relocation is not provided. Participation in the internship program is reserved for students who are currently enrolled or within 6 months post-graduation. Most positions are targeted to upperclassmen and graduate students.
