The Job

WarnerMedia seeks a Virtual Tech Strategy Intern, Fall 2021 for the Office of the CTO G&A department.

The Tech Strategy Intern will report to the SVP of Strategic Planning and be an integral member of the strategy team. He or she will help with all corporate-level strategies from strategic planning, long- and short-term roadmaps, and business development, all as a part of the CTO's core management team. The Tech Strategy Intern should have a background in business, consulting, product management, corporate strategy, or business development. He or she should be well-versed in researching technology innovation and developing thesis and recommendations for corporate-level strategies and business cases. He or she, along with the team, should then be able to take these strategies into action from R&D, to partnership, to investment, and finally to the market. All business cases and strategies should be built on solid research, and so the Business Strategy Intern should be familiar with gathering data from market research tools like Statista, IBISWorld, Markets and Markets, Pitchbook, and more. He or she should also be able to garner insights from conferences, talks, outreach to other companies, surveys, and even developing his or her own market research reports.

The Daily
• Provide strategic support that resembles consulting-like work, and draws on conceptualization, PowerPoint and project management skills
• Develop dashboards and visualizations for senior managers, and provide user support, including working on legacy reports for migration to the strategic business intelligence toolset
• Perform Ad-Hoc Reporting and troubleshooting when dashboards/reports, data models, and analytic solutions are not operational and follow through on resolution and root cause
• Support data mining, optimization, metrics development, and predictive analytics
• Document data requirements for report modeling, research and explore best practices and solutions
• Work on Proof of concept (POC) for a KPI dashboard solution, using sample data set of KPIs and metrics; Test and verify conceptual design, development, and distribution
• Identify and implement process improvement that inform structured recommendations for select strategic initiatives

Internship Program
• Students must be currently enrolled in a college degree program for full duration of the internship
• Summer 2021 program dates are June 7th - August 13th; must be available for full program duration
• Full-time schedule (40 hours/week) designed to work around class schedule
• Fully remote/virtual experience; company owned laptop provided for the duration of the internship program
• Salary based on office location; relocation is not provided
