Internship opportunities available will either be hybrid, in-person (requiring an intern to work from Telemundo Center, Miami, FL 3 days per week) based on the location mentioned, or virtual, depending on business needs.
Qualifications
Our Language Operations and Program Editing department oversees closed captioning, video format editing, and video distribution. This role plays a pivotal role in ensuring the accessibility, quality, and effective dissemination of audiovisual content. Its functions encompass adding subtitles for accessibility compliance, creatively and technically enhancing content quality through format editing, and delivering timely, high-quality distribution tailored to diverse platforms. Furthermore, the department emphasizes internal and external communication, collaborating across departments, and staying abreast of cutting-edge technologies to maintain efficiency and professionalism throughout the content creation and delivery process.
Basic Requirements:
• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the length of the program.
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.
• Must be working from within the United States during all hours worked.
• Bilingual Proficiency; exceptional grammar skills in both English and Spanish.
• Passionate Video Editor; demonstrated enthusiasm for creative and technical video editing.
• Data Management Proficiency; strong skills in organizing and maintaining video files and metadata.
• Detail Oriented; keen attention to detail in both grammar and technical aspects.
• Tech Savvy Learner; comfortable with video editing tools and open to adapting to new technologies.
• Continuous Learner; proactive in staying updated with the latest video editing and data management trends.
• Collaborative Team Player; works well within a team, contributing to a positive and innovative environment.

• Proficient in creative and technical video editing using programs such as Adobe Premiere, Avid Media Composer, and others.

• Comfortable with video editing tools like Adobe Premiere, Avid Media Composer, etc., and quick to learn new technologies.
• Familiarity with closed captioning tools, such as MacCaption, and proficiency in closed captioning editing.
• Strong analytical skills for creative and technical challenges.
• Efficiently meets project deadlines and handles multiple tasks.
• Understanding of legal standards in video content closed captioning, and data management.
• Proactive in staying updated with industry trends.
• Works well within a team, contributing positively to the work environment.
• Familiar with Smart sheet platform.
• The schedule for the intern is envisioned as a strategic hybrid model. This structure is designed to allow the individual to seamlessly integrate with the team, leveraging collective expertise while actively participating in collaborative work.
The internship hourly rate for undergrad students is $17.00 and $25.00 for MBA or master's degree.
