Job Description

Summary of Position

This position reports to the Director of Closed Captioning and works with the multiple Technical Operations teams (Materials, QC, Closed Captions, Image Operations, Localization, Metadata and Campaign Management) to support STARZ content, asset, metadata, and localization/translations workflows.

Responsibilities

Introduction to operational areas across Technical Operations team
• Materials

Focus on Programming Operations and Production Workflows:
• Support CC department using EZTitles and MacCaption for text creation/editing

• Support Content Localization scheduling utilizing Airtable

• Support Content Localization production utilizing Dalet Flex

• Support Marketing Localization production utilizing Workfront

• Support Technical Localization production utilizing XTM

• Support Metadata production utilizing Catalog and IBMS

• Support AP/Invoicing workflow utilizing SAP

Identify challenges and inefficiencies in workflow and systems, working with upper management to find pathways to improvement

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Film and/or Video Production or similar discipline

• Previous experience in film/television/internet distribution, cable television and/or broadcast satellite services within depth knowledge of audio/video file formats, codecs, bitrates, frame rates, television standards, film formats, video resolutions, aspect ratios, broadcast audio configurations and electronic delivery technologies

• Demonstrated understanding of post-production workflow, encoding/transcoding processes

• Experience leading complex cross-functional initiatives to delivery in localization, international product development, or other international business contexts

• Knowledge of industry standard dubbing, localization, subtitling, and editing tools

Nice to Haves
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment tracking multiple projects in various stages with demonstrated problem-solving ability and a keen attention to detail

• Ability to influence and partner with internal and external teams to deliver tactical and strategic solutions. Able to work through conflicts to negotiate win/win solutions and project a positive image of the organization

• Knowledgeable in NLE software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut, AVID) and all Mac and Microsoft Office applications including, Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint software applications

• Self-starter with excellent verbal, written, organizational and communication skills and an outstanding customer service demeanor and attitude

• Must love to experiment, troubleshoot and just generally solve problems

• Ability to work in cross-functional and cross-cultural environment

• Fluency in Spanish a plus

Lionsgate and Starz Internship Program –Summer 2024

Program Dates: Tuesday, June 11th – Friday, August 16th, 2024 (10 Weeks)

The Lionsgate and Starz Internship Program is designed to identify, recruit, and develop a diverse group of students that will gain meaningful educational experiences, professional growth, and career opportunities.

The pay rate for this internship is $18/hr.

Important Dates

The Lionsgate and Starz Summer 2024 Internship program dates are: June 11th–August 16th, 2024.

All interns are required to attend orientation on Tuesday, June 11th, 2024.

Details
• Interns must not work more than 36 hours per week

• Must be actively enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree

• Interns must be current rising juniors through recent grads (within 6 months of internship start date)

• Graduate students are eligible to apply

• Interns must be available to work for the entire length of the program

• All internships are paid

• Most internship positions will require working 4 days in office
