Summer Internship, Trust & Safety Policy Enforcement Intern | Public Affairs Mission (US)

Spotify Trust & Safety is dedicated to creating a platform that is safe for users and creators and true to our values.

We are looking for an outstanding summer Intern to join Spotify's Trust & Safety team. As a Trust & Safety intern, you will help to define, enforce, and communicate our stance on policy issues across podcasts, music, and all other forms of user-generated content.

What you'll do
• Work closely with our team and internal stakeholders to develop, refine, and launch content policies and enforcement processes that help ensure Spotify is a safe and positive experience for everyone.
• Help with policy enforcement operations; partner on audits and enforcement efficiency related projects.
• Help design enforcement workflows that apply to artists, podcasters, and users.
• Conduct risk assessments and research on key online safety trends, geopolitical climates, and legal landscapes re: content moderation.
• Advise and lead high-profile and/or time-sensitive investigations into potential policy violations.

Who you are
• You are a current or final year Master's program student in public policy, international relations, or other related fields to the job specifications.
• You have an understanding of the online safety trends and landscape, especially issues related to free-expression.
• You have strong communication skills, both written and verbal. You are able to provide concise advice and translate complex challenges clearly.
• You have strong project management skills and can take creative approaches to problem solving.
• You are a standout colleague with the ability to work autonomously.
• You have experience working with data analysis (qualitative and quantitative) - experience using SQL is a plus.
• You are excited by the ever-changing landscape of technology and have the ability to adjust and adapt to business and regulatory changes.
• Ideally you have some experience in drafting, reviewing, and/or implementing policies for ads, podcasts, music, video, and/or another other form of user-generated content.
• A second language is a plus.
• Prior experience in tech, government, or nonprofit is a plus.

Our paid summer internships last for 10-13 weeks and start at the beginning of June. The last day to apply is February 7, 2023 at 10AM CET.

The United States hourly rate for this position is 33.00 USD (Undergraduate First Year & Sophomores), 42.00 USD (Undergraduate Juniors & Seniors), 49.00 USD (Masters) & 58.00 USD (PhD) per hour plus a one time intern stipend of 2,253 USD. This position is overtime eligible. These rates may be modified in the future.
