Summer Internship, Publishing Operations Intern (US)

We are looking for a motivated Publishing Business Analyst Intern with an interest in project management, music publishing, and data that will join the Publishing Operations team under Business Affairs. You will support the team by standardizing and organizing the projects that they manage, performing competitive analysis and research, and managing internal stakeholder communication.

Your work will contribute to our mission of enabling new product innovation in the field of music rights and ensuring that songwriters are compensated for their work! Above all, your work will impact the way the world experiences music.

What you'll do
• Maintain timelines and operational workflows for internal stakeholders of publishing projects
• Support the development of new data systems/processes for innovating on how Spotify pays royalties for publishing rights
• Work with our competitive intelligence team to conduct research and do competitive analysis
• Query and provide insights on music publishing data
• Create communication plans and project briefs for publishing projects
• Work from our office in NYC

Who you are
• You are pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Music Business, Business Administration, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field of study and have a graduation date of 2024.
• You currently have valid work authorization to work in the country in which this role is based that will extend from June to August 2023
• A problem-solver who can think strategically and find solutions to problems in an unfamiliar space
• Experienced with working on tight deadlines, collaborating with people from other teams, and managing tasks efficiently
• You have experience working in excel (using VLOOKUP, pivot tables, etc) and you have working SQL knowledge
• An understanding of the music industry, music publishing, and how creators get paid is a plus
• Passionate about enabling creators to make a living off their work and supporting Spotify's ability to grow as a company in a constantly evolving music rights landscape.

Our paid summer internships last for 10-12 weeks and start at the beginning of June. The last day to apply is April 4th, 2023 at 10AM EST.

The United States hourly rate for this position is 33.00 USD (Undergraduate First Year & Sophomores), 42.00 USD (Undergraduate Juniors & Seniors), 49.00 USD (Masters) & 58.00 USD (PhD) per hour plus a one time intern stipend of 2,253 USD. This position is overtime eligible. These rates may be modified in the future.
