Summer Intern - Information Technology - End User Equipment Management

Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join the Sinclair IT Service Desk team as an Intern with a special emphasis on Equipment Management for the upcoming summer. In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to work closely with our seasoned IT professionals to gain hands-on experience in managing and optimizing our organization's technology assets. This internship provides an excellent learning environment for individuals interested in pursuing a career in IT while offering exposure to critical asset management practices within a real-world setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Equipment Inventory:
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of a comprehensive inventory of end user equipment, including laptops, desktops, and mobile devices.
• Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and update asset records accordingly.

Asset Tracking and Documentation:
• Support asset tracking systems to monitor the lifecycle of end user equipment.
• Document hardware specifications, configurations, and relevant details for each asset.

Support Procurement and Disposal Processes:
• Collaborate with the procurement team to track new equipment acquisitions, ensuring timely and accurate recording of asset information.
• Facilitate the proper disposal or reallocation of retired or unused assets in accordance with organizational policies.

User Communication and Training:
• Develop communication materials to inform end users about asset management policies and procedures.
• Conduct training sessions or create resources to educate end users on responsible asset usage.

Qualifications:
• Pursuing an undergraduate degree in a related field
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or Google Suite.
• Basic understanding of asset management concepts and IT infrastructure
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Eagerness to learn and contribute to the optimization of end user equipment assets.
