Job Description
The Vulnerability and Intelligence Intern is a temporary role that supports Scripps' cybersecurity risk reduction efforts by assisting with the remediation and burn-down of urgent vulnerabilities and by explicitly leveraging threat intelligence to inform risk-based prioritization. Working in close partnership with IT Governance, Risk, & Compliance (GRC) and Cybersecurity Operations, this role contributes to protecting Scripps' media, broadcast, and enterprise technology environments by improving visibility into cyber risk, accelerating remediation outcomes, and strengthening intelligence-informed security operations. The role also supports continuous improvement by enhancing documentation quality, process consistency, and operational effectiveness across vulnerability management workflows.
Key Activities
• Assist in identifying, prioritizing, and tracking critical and high-risk vulnerabilities across infrastructure, applications, endpoints, and media/broadcast technology environments.
• Support vulnerability remediation efforts by coordinating with Cybersecurity Operations and technology teams, and validating remediation through rescans and evidence review.
• Apply threat intelligence and vulnerability advisories to support risk-based prioritization and identify elevated risk scenarios.
• Review vulnerability scan results, technical findings, and remediation guidance to support accurate risk assessment and decision-making.
• Assist Cybersecurity Operations with vulnerability triage and basic technical validation using diagnostic or command-line tools, as appropriate.
• Track vulnerability aging and remediation progress to support dashboards, metrics, and leadership reporting.
• Identify recurring issues, process gaps, or inefficiencies within vulnerability and intelligence workflows and assist in recommending improvements.
• Document findings, remediation status, and risk information clearly for both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including GRC reporting needs.

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
