INTERNSHIP PROGRAM

Penguin Random House offers 8-week PAID internship opportunities available in our adult, children's, and corporate divisions. Interns are exposed to the publishing process and our business through panels, networking events, and even brown bag lunches throughout the semester! Fall interns work for 14 hours per week and are paid $20/hr. Intern schedules will be flexible to account for applicants who may be located in a variety of time zones – our HQ is in New York so we work on EST.

Program Dates: Tuesday September 28, 2021 – Monday November 22, 2021

Departmental Description:

Managing Editorial

Manage in-house editorial process of making manuscripts into bound books. The department maintains and modifies the production schedules to ensure the books are ready to publish by their on-sale date. They coordinate with various internal departments such as editorial, production, and art/design to guarantee the deadlines and budgets are met.

Production Editorial
Oversees the copyediting, proofreading, and indexing of titles across our adult and children's imprints. Production editors review text, proofread jackets and manuscripts, and hire and oversee the work of freelancers. Collaborating with editorial, art/design, and various departments, our production editors confirm all corrections are properly made before the manuscript goes to print.

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

To be eligible, you must be a rising college senior, a graduate; and/or any candidate available for full-time employment within 6 months to 1 year. You need not be enrolled in college or have a degree to apply to our internship program. You must be located in the US during the dates of the program.
