Job Description
The Social Media intern will support the PBS social media team in identifying and producing content from PBS programs designed for social media platforms. This internship provides a unique opportunity for a passionate individual to gain hands-on experience in video production and social media management for America's most-trusted media organization.

Time Commitment: 30 hrs./week, May 28, 2024 – August 23, 2024

Undergraduate students receive $15/hour, graduate students receive $17/hour

Key Responsibilities/Projects:
• Screen PBS programs and clips to identify
opportunities for timely , relevant social media content that enhances the PBS brand across our key genres and demonstrates the value of PBS PASSPORT as a member benefit.
• Conceptualize, produce and edit short-form vertical video content tailored for social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Tiktok , and YouTube. Ensure videos are
optimized for each platform, considering aspect ratios, captions, PBS social branding policies and other platform-specific requirements.
• Collaborate with the social content, engagement and digital teams to develop creative concepts that align with PBS's mission and values.
• Assist in managing PBS's social media accounts, including content scheduling, posting, and engagement.

Skill Intern Will Acquire:
• Advanced video editing and production skills for social media platforms
• Understand the creative process of a trusted media brand
• Collaboration within a fast-paced creative workplace
• Opportunity to bolster portfolio with content published to millions of social followers

Skills Required
• Strong interest in social media, video production, and public broadcasting.
• Proficient in video editing software (Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro, etc.).
• Familiarity with social media platforms and trends.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas for content.

Salary Details
