PBS Foundation Internship (Hybrid)

Corporate Area: PBS Foundation

Status: Internship/Full-Time/ Hybrid

Supervisor Title: VP and Deputy Director, PBS Foundation

Time Commitment: 40 hours/week, June 2023 – August 2023

Compensation: $15/hour for undergraduate students, $17/hour for graduate students

Position Overview:

The PBS Foundation provides philanthropic support on behalf of the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) and its member stations. In supporting PBS, the PBS Foundation seeks private funds from individuals, foundations, and corporations for priority initiatives and carries out such activities as prospect identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and donor stewardship; generation of proposals; and grants and gift management.

Reporting to the Foundation's Vice President and Deputy Director and working closely with PBS staff, the intern will get the opportunity to work with both the operations team and the fundraising team. This is a wonderful introduction to working in a high performing, fun, and collaborative nonprofit environment.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

The PBS Foundation intern will assist with communications, event planning and logistics (research locations/virtual events opportunities), help with invitations and invitation list management, supporting stewardship for major donors and Beacon Society members (touch points, drafting communications), updating donor records, and prospect research projects.
