Intern - Kids Creative

Job Description

The PBS KIDS digital design team is currently engaged in the department's largest redesign project ever. The intern will join our team's work on the PBS KIDS Games redesign project and second phase of PBS KIDS Video redesign project. They will contribute to design reviews, problem-solving and hands-on design work including graphic production of assets to prep for launch of redesign.

Time Commitment: 30 hrs./week, May 28, 2024 – August 23, 2024
Undergraduate students receive $15/hour, graduate students receive $17/hour

Key Responsibilities/Projects:
• Work closely with PBS KIDS designers to create experiences for kids 2-8
• Conceptualize and design engaging interactive content for PBS KIDS Games & Video websites & apps
• Participate in brainstorms and design reviews with PBS KIDS design team for new games and show content in production
• Work closely with the PBS KIDS production team to create content for new and ongoing promotions

Skill Intern Will Acquire:
• Hands-on experience with the digital design and development processes on a large project with a multi- discipline team (product, tech, content, etc. )
• Collaboration and problem-solving with a team of creative professionals
• Knowledge of the children's media industry
• Knowledge of the public media industry
• Experience working within brand guidelines across multiple platforms

Skills Required
• Ability to create simple digital visual design concepts with appeal to kids 2-8
• Experience & interest in user interface design
• Working knowledge of Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and other design applications
• Drive to pursue abstract ideas from concept to completion
• Ability to receive and incorporate critical feedback
