Corporate Support & Philanthropy Internship (Hybrid)

Corporate Area: Station Services

Status: Internship/Full-Time/Hybrid

Supervisor Title: Senior Director, Corporate Relations

Time Commitment: 35 hours/week, June 2023 – August 2023

Compensation: $15/hour for undergraduate students, $17/hour for graduate students

Position Overview:

The PBS Station Services team serves as liaison between PBS HQ and member stations nationwide. Station Services is charged with developing system-wide strategic initiatives around fundraising, station leadership and digital capacity; creating a central communication point for stations; fostering collaboration by connecting stations; facilitating knowledge sharing; and strengthening PBS's ability to address member station needs. The intern will gain a unique understanding of PBS and the ways PBS stations fundraise through immersion in the Station Services Fundraising Strategy team and support of the corporate support, major giving, and philanthropy activities.

Key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
• Assist with the creation of fundraising assets and resources related to PBS programming and content
• Engagement/event prep and planning
• Assist with the planning & execution of virtual training sessions and distance learning opportunities

Requirements for success:
• Strong writing skills
• Attention to detail
• Creative thinker
• Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word
• Interest in graphic design

Skills the Intern may gain:
• Increased knowledge of public media and affiliate communications
• Learn about non-profit fundraising and media sales
• Develop base level knowledge of media research
• Strengthen knowledge and skills related to individual and corporate philanthropy
• Effective promotional outreach and communication for a membership organization
