Louisiana First News (FOX 44/NBC 33/CW 21/ZTV) a television news station in Baton Rouge, LA, is offering an exciting internship opportunity in our newsroom for motivated, curious, and driven students.
About the Internship:
As a Newsroom Intern, you'll gain valuable behind-the-scenes exposure to the daily operations of a broadcast newsroom. This internship is designed to give students practical experience while working alongside experienced journalists, producers, and assignment editors.
Responsibilities:
• Assist reporters, producers, and digital teams in story research and development
• Help with logging interviews, organizing scripts, and gathering visual elements
• Attend editorial meetings and contribute to story ideas
• Shadow field crews on shoots and live reports (as available)
• Support the digital news team with web and social media content
• Learn industry-standard tools and newsroom software
Qualifications:
• Current enrollment in a college or university program (Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or related field preferred)
• Strong interest in television news and storytelling
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to take initiative and work in a deadline-driven environment
• Availability to intern 10–15 hours per week
