10 ViacomCBS is looking for a motivated Legal Intern who is available at least 2 days per week for an unpaid practical legal training placement with a potential progression to a paid paralegal role. As a Legal Intern you will gain valuable legal and media industry experience as part of our energetic and professional in-house legal team in an evolving media landscape.

What you'll do as a Legal Intern: 

As a Legal Intern you will assist the legal team in a broad range of commercial, programming, IT, digital and operations matters. This will involve contract reviews and negotiation, legal research, precedent development and providing advice and support to the business.

This role would ideally suit a law student in their penultimate or final year of study, needing to satisfy the required quota of practical legal training. The role is accommodating of university assignments and exams timetables.

What are we looking for in a Legal Intern? What's important?  
• Ability to understand, review and draft a wide variety of contracts
• Ability to undertake varied and complex research and/or analytical tasks
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Skilled, effective and professional interpersonal, written and communication skills
• Ability to adapt to and communicate with various types of people internally and externally
• Sound time management skills and the ability to perform a variety of tasks
• Proficient computer skills
• Ability to work collaboratively and effectively as a team member
• High level of motivation and ability to take initiative
• Ability to take direction 

Extra points for the following, but not necessarily required:  
• Completion of one or more of the following university subjects: intellectual property law, media law and entertainment law
• Strong grades in other relevant subjects, such as contract law
• Experience working in a law firm or in-house legal environment
• Strong interest in media especially television
• Familiarity with digital media and content services available in the Australian market
