Summer 2024 Recruitment Timeline:

Mid November – Late December: First round video interviews

Mid – Late January: Second round interviews

Late January – February: Selected candidates receive offers

Job Description

Summer 2024 Internship Program:
• Applications Close: December 8th at 11:59pm ET. Pro Tip: Submit your application as soon as possible – applications could close earlier due to applicant volume!
• Program Dates: June 3 – August 9, 2024
• Time Commitment: 40 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need.
• Format: Opportunities listed will require an intern to work from (insert office location) 3-5 days per week.

Universal Studio Group (USG) encompasses NBCUniversal's television production studios: Universal Television (UTV), Universal Content Productions (UCP), NBCUniversal International Studio, and Universal Television Alternative Studio (UTAS). USG produces over 100 scripted and unscripted series across multiple countries around the globe for buyers in broadcast, cable, and streaming. Network partners include NBC, Peacock, Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, Apple, HBO, BBC, ITV, Channel 4, CTV, ABC, FOX, and ABC among many others.  As part of USG, Stamford Studios is a full-service production facility and is the home to some of NBCU's most popular daytime programming including Maury, The Steve Wilkos Show, and Karamo.

Areas of placement may include, but are not limited to:
• Business Affairs: support business & legal affairs departments by keeping track of all deal points, tracking options & deadlines, insurance, talent fees, insurance and more 
• Creative Acquisitions: help team evaluate intellectual property and strategize on how to package material with USG, engage and learn about talent deals
• Marketing & Events: create campaigns & strategies, review & analyze consumer data, develop & design marketing collateral for pitch meetings, and participate in brainstorm & strategy meetings. 
• UTV Programming & Creative: support the 5 departments inside of Universal TV: Development, Current programming, Casting, Production & the office of the president. Provide desk coverage across the departments as needed, including scheduling, rolling calls, and emailing with agents/managers.
• Programming & Development (Domestic & International): script coverage, maintain talent and project databases, and general administrative support 

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program.
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.
• Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA.

Desired Characteristics:
• Students with class standing of junior or above preferred.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Detail-oriented, analytical, strategic thinker, creative, researcher, energetic, resourceful, self-starter, great time-management.
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• High level of organization and ability to manage multiple projects with various deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and proofreading skills
• Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive

The hourly rate for student interns is $17.00
