Responsibilities

NBCUniversal owns a valuable portfolio spanning across broadcast divisions, cable networks, digital businesses, film, international, local media, Peacock and TV studio productions. 

Internships & Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to): 

CNBC: 

Front End Web Development – The Frontend Engineering team at CNBC.com is looking for a talented internto join our incredible engineering culture. You will work alongside software engineers building real-world features that are consumed daily by an audience of millions. Your primary focus is engineering, but you will also collaborate with all facets of our web engineering practices. This includes working with product on understanding and clarifying requirements, working with our design team to make sure features are pixel-perfect, and testing with our quality engineers to make sure your features are bug-free.

CNBC Quality Assurance – As a quality assurance (QA) Intern, you will assist QA Lead with daily, weekly and long-term testing in an agile team. The internwill participate in agile teams to understand product requirements and then develop automated tests. This is an opportunity to collaborate with the rest of our QA team to create comprehensive automated test solutions.

NBC News Group:

NBC News Digital Data - Data/Graphics team at NBC News is responsible for explaining the news through visualizations and data analysis. We build interactives, charts, maps, illustrations, graphics and more to tell the news in a compelling and thoughtful way. The internwill have an opportunity to help find stories that we could be telling in a new and visual way. This internwill also help create charts, maps and graphics for breaking news stories and for reported features.

NBC News Digital Insights – The Digital Insights team works with NBC News, MSNBC and TODAY on both editorial and product initiatives. As an intern, you will work with the Digital Insights Team to design, conduct and analyze primary research including surveys, in-depth interviews, and user testing.

Qualifications/Requirements
In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution and be able to provide documentation to confirm your degree progress. 

Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits) 

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above 

Must be 18 years of age or older 

Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal

Desired Characteristics

Strong interest in the media industry; avid news/ business news reader is a plus.

Commitment to building an inclusive work environment 

Ability to multitask and highly organized 

Excellent verbal and written communication.

Basic understanding of how to organize a spreadsheet (excel or google sheets) and work with data.

Knowledge of HTML, CSS, Javascript, React, GraphQL, SASS, Github, NPM, PHP, Unix/Linux scripting, Node.js or relational databases and/or web development

Previous internshipexperience or on-campus leadership; technology environment preferred.
