Academic Year Internship Program:

• Time Commitment: 16-24 hours per week. Exact schedule to be determined based on business need. We will do our best to accommodate course schedules.

The below opportunity listed offers an extended internship experience which will span the Fall 2023 and Spring 2024 semesters. Working over winter break will not be required.

Areas of placement include:
• Peacock Business & Legal Affairs – this team consists of approximately 25 lawyers, paralegals and professional staff. The team is divided into three main areas: (1) Product & Technology, (2) Marketing & Partnerships, and (3) Regulatory & Compliance. The legal intern would support both the Product & Technology and Marketing & Partnerships legal teams and would dually report to senior lawyers in each area. This would include general marketing guidance, preparing summaries and self-helps tools, preparing draft agreements based on a template, and observing deal negotiations and attorney-client interactions.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:
• Must be actively enrolled in a degree-granting program at an accredited institution during the entire duration of the program.
• Current class standing of sophomore or above (30 credits).
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship by NBCUniversal.
• Must be willing to work in New York, NY.

Desired Characteristics:
• Students pursuing a law degree (JD) preferred.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Knowledge of legal terminology.
• Experience in technology and advertising/marketing or intellectual property a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 suite of products, including Word, Outlook and Sharepoint (Powerpoint a plus).

The hourly rate for undergraduate student interns is $20.00. 

The hourly rate for graduate student interns is $25.00. 

The hourly rate for JD student interns is $25.00.
