About the Role & Program

The National Geographic Content Unscripted Production team is responsible for leading the production and delivery of all global unscripted series and specials including travel, adventure, exploration, access, investigative, history and science for Disney+, Hulu and Nat Geo's linear channels! We own the entire production process of over 200 hours of unscripted premium television in partnership with best in class production companies and creatives from around the globe. In addition, we work in close collaboration with our internal NatGeo colleagues to ensure exceptional integration of our content and storytelling across platforms.

What You Will Do
• Review creative deliverables and provide feedback to the executive producer on materials such as casting, outlines, scripts, edits, series loglines, write ups and more.
• Help coordinate various departmental needs and provide support for specific projects and/or executive producers
• Help create & maintain select data bases
• Build a bi-weekly update of current popular content across broadcast & digital platforms.
• Assist the Executive Producers build creative decks for various presentations (internal/external).
• Assist with awards research and submissions tracking
• Research and organize electronically a list of potential talent that would be suitable for consideration in specific shows.
• Attend meeting with creative partners
• Provide editorial feedback to scripts and outlines

Required Qualifications & Skills
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Analytical and organized
• Ability to handle and prioritize simultaneous projects and meet deadlines
• Self-motivated and resourceful, with the ability to work with minimal direction and exercise independent judgment
• Proficient in the use of MS Word and Excel
• Adept at learning new software
• Interest in creative editorial
• Interest in unscripted television or documentaries

Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with PowerPoint or Keynote

Education

To be eligible for this internship you must be a junior, senior or a recent graduate (within 6 months of your graduation date) pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Media Studies, Film/Television or a related field

Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
• Must be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
• Must be at least 18 years of age and possess unrestricted work authorization
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
• Must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session
• Must be able to work on-site in New York City and provide your own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship
• Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are May 2024 – August 2024. Candidate must be available to work 40 hours/week in Eastern Standard time for the duration of the internship- could be nights, weekends and possible overnights
