About the Role & Program
Embark on an exciting journey as an intern with the Brand & Franchise team at National Geographic! Be part of a passionate group dedicated to revitalizing the iconic Nat Geo brand within the Disney portfolio. Our mission is to elevate brand value, spark synergy across Disney divisions, and unlock new growth through bold, strategic initiatives. You'll help shape the future of the Nat Geo brand for both adult and kids audiences, contribute to high-profile campaigns like Earth Month, build influential partnerships, and strengthen collaboration with the National Geographic Society.
As an intern, you'll work side-by-side with talented teams from National Geographic Content, the National Geographic Society, and The Walt Disney Company, gaining hands-on experience in brand strategy, integrated marketing, franchise development, and audience insights. This is your chance to make a real impact, expand your professional network, and help create meaningful connections that inspire audiences worldwide.
This is a full-time internship, and the approximate dates are from May/June 2026 through August/September 2026. If selected for this internship, you will report directly to the Director at National Geographic Brand & Franchise Management. What You Will Do
• Assist with gathering competitive research, audience insights, and trend analysis.
• Support development of strategy briefs, presentations, and brand documentation.
• Help coordinate initiative planning across Consumer Products, Publishing, Travel & Expeditions, and Disney Parks.
• Assist with toolkit development for internal and external partners.
• Monitor brand consistency across channels and support creative reviews.

Required Qualifications & Skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
• Curiosity about brand strategy, storytelling, and media.
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with National Geographic, Disney, or the entertainment/media landscape.
• Experience with social media, content creation, or audience engagement.
• Exposure to research, analytics, or competitive analysis.
• Experience with Airtable.
Education
• Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, Business, or a related field.
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
• Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
• Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Possess unrestricted work authorization.

Additional Information
• Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship.
• The approximate dates of this internship are May/June 2026 through August/September 2026.
• Fully available from Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm ET for the duration of the internship.
• Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Washington DC area.
• Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work.
The pay rate for this role in Washington DC is $22.50 per hour.
