About the Role & Team

The Information Systems (IS) group builds robust cross-platform web applications that enable Lucasfilm and ILM's global studios to create movies and TV shows efficiently. The breadth of the IS portfolio of applications ranges from proprietary enterprise applications to global production tracking and digital asset management software.

What You Will Do

Interns could work on a variety of projects, including:

Application Development:
Participate in requirements discussions;
Build out feature requests and or enhancements;
Drill down to resolve issues or errors;
Participate in code reviews with fellow developers;

Infrastructure Development:
Improve build and deploy systems
Created automated tests
Enhance monitoring and alerts

Research & Development:
Research ways to utilize data science and/or analytics
Build out proof of concept

Required Qualifications & Skills
Vue.js, jQuery, Angular, or React
Python
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively interact with diverse personalities.
Strong time management skills; Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
Proven ability to work autonomously and in team settings with a positive, proactive attitude.
Proven ability to effectively extract useful information from large data sets

Preferred Qualifications

Web frameworks: Flask/Bottle, Django preferred
Web servers: Nginx, uWSGI preferred
Data stores/tools: Oracle, PostgreSQL, SQLAlchemy, Redis, RabbitMQ, Solr preferred
Tools: Virtualenv, Buildout, py.test, Ansible, Selenium preferred
Virtualization: AWS, VMWare, Docker preferred
Analytics: IBM Planning Analytics, Excel, Cognos BI, Tableau preferred

Education

Currently enrolled or graduated within the past six months from an accredited college/university, earning a degree majoring in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.

Additional Information

Am I Eligible?
At the time of application, you must be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
Must provide full work availability.
Program Length: The approximate dates of this internship are May/June - August/September 2024. Interns must be fully available for the duration of a 12-week assignment.
Please note the safety and well-being of our teams is very important to us. Based on government recommendations, we will determine whether this program will be in-person at our San Francisco, CA studio or virtual in the coming months.

The pay rate for this role in San Fransisco, CA, is $35.00 per hour.
