Job Description
Immerse yourself in the exciting world of visual effects production as a Pipeline Technical Director (TD) Intern! In this role, you'll collaborate closely with our experienced Pipeline TDs, artists, and supervisors, contributing to the development and maintenance of the software and technical infrastructure that powers our creative process.This internship offers hands-on experience in designing, implementing, and optimising workflows to streamline our production pipelines. You'll play a vital role in enhancing efficiency and innovation within our studio.
What the internship may involve:
Assist in the development of custom tools and scripts using Python and/or other scripting languages to automate repetitive tasks, improve workflow efficiency, and address production challenges.
Collaborate with the Pipeline TD team to enhance and expand our production pipelines, focusing on efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
Integrate third-party software and plugins into our pipeline, ensuring seamless compatibility and performance optimisation.
Provide technical support to artists and production teams, diagnosing and resolving pipeline-related issues in a timely manner.
Document workflows, tools, and best practices to facilitate knowledge transfer and ensure consistency across projects.
Stay updated on the latest trends, technologies, and techniques in the VFX industry, exploring innovative solutions to enhance our pipeline capabilities.
To be considered for this Internship program, you will have a mix of these skills:
Currently pursuing a degree or recently graduated from Creative Productions, Computer Science, Computer Graphics, or a related field. Or you've acquired the necessary skills through self-study/non-traditional courses.
Strong programming skills, with proficiency in Python and/or other scripting languages commonly used in VFX production or coding experience in another language.
Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and collaborative development practices.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, independence, and a proactive self-starter.
Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Prior experience with some VFX software (e.g., Maya, Houdini, Nuke) and/or an understanding of VFX production workflows and techniques would be beneficial.

Duration of internship: 3 months (Dates: Monday 14 July - Friday 03 September TBC).
This program will be delivered onsite and in person, 5 days per week - start time & finish times TBC - at the Sydney Studio.
Relocation is not offered & candidates must reside in NSW from the commencement of the course.
