Internship Summary:

The Accounting Intern will work with the operations accounting team to support accurate and timely show accounting. This includes generation of payments, preparation of accounting entries, creation and distribution of reports, and reconciliation work.

Learning Objectives:
• Gain knowledge of music and live events from a financial perspective
• Develop accountability in managing tasks with extremely strict deadlines
• Learn from a team of financial leaders with varying areas of expertise

Role & Responsibilities:

This position is responsible for all accounting functions related to shows including but not limited to:
• Entering show settlements into accounting systems and distributing reports
• Acting as a point of contact for show accounting, and liaising with production staff
• Reviewing all show settlements to verify proper documentation has been received
• Creating project listings for upcoming shows and events
• Coding and circulating invoices and cheques for Accounts Payable input
• Preparing artist settlement wires based on contract; remit payment to artist ensuring appropriate withholding taxes and deductions are recognized.
• Preparing and uploading journal entries
• Assembling documentation for festival and artist payments
• Preparing bank deposits
• Generating system reports
• Ad hoc projects as assigned by management

• An avid interest in learning about the music industry
• Proven ability to listen, understand and communicate effectively
• Ability to take direction while also displaying strong personal initiative
• A creative thinker and self-starter with a winning attitude
• Ability to work well within a team environment
• Available to work evenings and weekends as required
• COVID-19 vaccination will be required for this position subject to legally valid exemptions

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

Sitting for extended periods of time at a computer station or work desk; stands and walks throughout the day; occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.; uses hands and fingers to operate computers and office equipment for up to 8 hours each day; lifts up to 10 pounds regularly; exposed to typical office environment conditions and noise levels.
