The Internship Program

The Hearst Magazines Summer Internship Program is a paid, full time 11-week program for undergraduate rising Juniors & Seniors. From June 3 – August 16, 2024, our interns will gain an immersive, hands-on experience with one of the top publishers in the world.

In addition to working with their assigned team on important projects, interns will gain access to Hearst's diverse professional network by participating in intimate learning sessions and join fun peer networking activities throughout the summer. Program participants will also leverage Hearst's resources to work on and present a group project to senior leaders at the conclusion of the program.

The Features team aims to enrich the lives of our readers and validate their interests and obsessions through immersive longform storytelling about fascinating characters, events, and discoveries that inform their diverse passions.

This Summer, the Features team is looking for an intern to support the team in Easton, Pennsylvania.

What You'll Do
• Study and understand our analytics around successful feature stories
• Research and mine our archives to discover stories that meet established success criteria
• Prepare stories to republish, repackage, and re-promote to drive reader engagement across all our platforms

Who You Are
• You have strong research skills with analytical mindset
• You have an understanding of the elements of effective narrative storytelling
• You are self-motivated with a collaborative attitude
• Your current major is either Journalism, English, Communications, or a related field

The estimated base salary for this role is $20/hour. The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as transferable skills, work experience, business needs, market demands and conditions, including geographic location where the work will be performed, and other factors permitted by law. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.  

This role requires the position to be located in Easton, PA with an in-office presence of 3 days a week.
