DreamWorks Animation is seeking a qualified intern to join our Technical Direction team. Through this internship, the individual will gain firsthand experience working in a fast-paced, creative environment while being exposed to various production workflows and strategies.

Fall 2022 Technical Direction Internship:
• Applications close: July 7, 2022 at 11:59pm PT
• Program Dates: September 26, 2022 - December 2, 2022
• Time Commitment : Part time (16-24 hours per week)
• Format: Virtual OR in-person

Responsibilities: ''What would you say you do here?''
• Observe and assist Technical Directors with writing tools for the production pipeline
• Craft and develop new software tools and applications to assist artists in large-scale feature animation productions
• Test, debug, and extend existing tools and systems
• Provide technical support to production artists
• Provide support for any additional administrative and data-wrangling tasks as needed

Qualifications/Requirements
• Programming experience
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to work independently
• Pursuing an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at a College/University (or equivalent), or be a recent graduate (within six months of graduation date)
• If selected for an in-person internship, must be willing to work in Glendale, California.
• If selected for a virtual internship, must be working from a location within the United States during all hours worked.
• If selected for a virtual internship, must have own equipment (computer, headphones, etc.) and stable internet connection.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
• Must submit an attestation disclosing your COVID-19 vaccination status and, if partially or fully vaccinated, submitting your vaccination record no later than 7 days following commencement of employment.
• Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the commencement of employment or adhere to enhanced protocols if Company determines your job position requires accessing an NBCUniversal worksite.
• Must be willing to adhere to all Company COVID-19 workplace safety policies and protocols.

Desired Characteristics
• Major in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Visualization or Digital Media (or equivalent)
• Experience in programming languages such as Python, C++ or JavaScript
• Computer Graphics and web development experience
• Experience with project-tracking software such as Jira or equivalent
• Understanding of digital content creation applications such as Maya, Houdini, and/or Nuke
• Interest in Feature Animation
• Solid grasp of revision control systems such as Git
• Familiarity with User Experience (UX) concepts and/or User Interface (UI) design and development
