About the People Inc. Summer Internship Program:
The People Inc. Summer Internship Program is a 9-week full-time, paid program that runs from June 8 until August 7 and is based out of our New York office. The intern program consists of hands-on learning opportunities to create work that has an impact on the business, along with workshops in preparing you for post-college life (resumé / interviewing) plus fun events throughout the summer!

Eligibility Requirements:
• Internships are available to current Sophomores, Juniors and Seniors at an accredited college or university.
• You must be available to work full-time for the entire 9-week program in the NY office, at least 3 days a week
• You must have access to your own housing and transportation to/from the NY office

About the Role:
This internship provides hands-on experience in writing, reporting, interviewing and fact-checking while working closely with leading editors on the pop culture stories shaping today's culture.
Internship Responsibilities Will Include:
• Write pre-writes for People.com and contribute reporting to front-of-book magazine sections
• Cover events such as press junkets, red carpets and live awards shows
• Monitor and transcribe media-talk shows, podcasts, and more-for content ideas
• Pitch story ideas, interview talent and support planning documents like events calendars
• Fact-check print stories and assist with additional editorial tasks as needed
About You:
Characteristics that will make you stand out from the rest:
• Experience working at a campus publication or in a prior editorial internship
• Excellent writing skills–a must
• A passion for celebrity culture, as well as an interest in current events and social issues
• Being open to new challenges and excited to grow within an expanding and constantly evolving organization
• Ability to think creatively and be a self-starter, resourceful, professional and a team player
• Enthusiasm for working in a fast-paced, news-driven environment
• Familiarity with using Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok as reporting tools
• Ability to occasionally work late evenings or weekends, due to the nature of news

Hourly: New York: $20.00 - $20.00
