About the DDM Summer Internship Program:

The Dotdash Meredith Summer Internship Program is a 10 week full time program that runs from June 3rd through August 9th, based out of our New York office. The intern program consists of hands-on learning, opportunities to create work that has an impact on the business, along with workshops in preparing you for post-college life (resume / interviewing) plus, some fun events throughout the summer!

The rate for our DDM Summer Internship is $20/hour.

About the Team:

PEOPLE and Entertainment Weekly are two of the most iconic entertainment media brands in the world. The Sales & Marketing Team plays a critical role in developing, packaging and pitching innovative opportunities and products for our premium advertisers across digital, print, social, experiential, influencer, PR and more. The team works collaboratively with editorial, ad product, licensing and various other internal and external teams to develop strong prospects, programs, presentations and platforms to help our brands–and clients–win in the competitive advertising marketplace. From Red Carpet to Royals to retail, we cover it all.

About the Role:

Hands-on, real-life career experience working across marketing and ad sales + revenue (the RFP process, marketing ideation, proposal development, the pitch, post-sale activation), brand events + sponsor activations, as well as working with some of the other teams we work with closely to get a full 360 picture of working at People + EW & DDM.
• Attend and contribute to weekly meetings, brainstorms in response to RFPs/proactive pitches, internal calls to discuss active or sold programs and more (and where needed, help with follow-up/deliverables coming out of those meetings).
• Attend weekly team meetings: bi-weekly All Hands sales + marketing meeting, weekly marketing-only meeting, internal strategy sessions about client pitches and presentations, 1:1s with key team members, and sales calls
• Research and prospect new accounts
• Review competitive magazines to pull out advertisements for accounts (tear-sheeting).
• Support events with ideation, venue research and vendor research, and development
• Industry Trendspotting
• End of term presentation putting everything you've learned into practice!
