WABC-TV (ABC7) Creative Services Intern, Summer/Fall 2026

About the Role & Program:
WABC-TV, the flagship Disney/ABC–owned television station in New York, is the most watched television station in the New York television market and the United States. WABC also leads the local news market in digital and social-engagement metrics! Channel 7's Creative Services department functions as an in-house advertising agency promoting Eyewitness News, which is New York's #1 news brand; the abc7NY digital/social brands; the ABC7 New York streaming platforms; and all local programming on WABC-TV.
This internship is a part-time (24 hours), six-month commitment in the New York, New York area from June 2026-January 2027.

What You Will Do:
As the intern in our Creative Services department, you will gain knowledge and real-world experience in production, post-production, promotion writing, and media marketing.
• Assist producers in preparing spots for air and will be responsible for shepherding various projects through to completion.
• Gain exposure to multiple departments at the station, including News, Programming, Production, Graphics, and Sales/Marketing.
• Video editing.

Required Qualifications & Skills:
• Outstanding video editing experience in Adobe Premiere
• Familiarity with ABC7 New York properties (linear, social, digital, streaming)
• Attention to detail, exacting standards, and outstanding organizational skills
• Major or previous coursework in Broadcast Journalism, Communications, Video Production, or related major
• Proven track record working independently
Preferred Qualifications:
• The ability to use DSLR cameras is a plus
• Familiarity with graphic and/or motion design programs (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, AfterEffects, etc.)

Education:
• Junior/Senior-level standing
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
• Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
• Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Possess unrestricted work authorization

Additional Information
• Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
• Fully available from June 2026 through January 2027
• Candidates must be available to work 24 hours per week on a flexible schedule set by the supervisor, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Afternoon availability during the week, especially on Thursday and Friday, is preferred
• Able to provide own housing for the duration of the internship program in the New York, New York area
• Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work in the New York, New York area

The pay rate for this role in New York is $22.50 per hour.
