About the Role & Program
Live Kelly and Ryan is a daily, one-hour talk show hosted by Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos. The program features a mix of celebrities, entertainers, cooking and health and fashion segments. ''LIVE'' boasts its trademark ''host chat'' at the top of the show but is basically variety programming at its best!
What You Will Do
Our interns at LIVE! help to make the daily operations of the production run smoothly. Interns will assist the show by acting as production assistants during taping of the show as well as in the production office. Our interns will help producers with research for cooking and lifestyle segments as well as gathering information for celebrity interviews. Our interns will have the opportunity to observe different areas of the show's production both on and off the set. Interns will support the staff by answering phones, sorting and distributing mail, running errands, answering the intern email account, and other production tasks that come up throughout the day. You will gain knowledge and experience in audience development and television production.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• A self-starter with willingness to take initiative
• A reliable person who naturally follows through with tasks, no matter the seeming level of importance
• Someone who pays close attention to detail and takes pride in their work
• Pursuing a career in television production
• Proven skills utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Real-world work experience either in entertainment or unrelated
• Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
• Comfortable balancing multiple projects at once
• Major or previous coursework in Broadcast Journalism, Communication or related major
Preferred Qualifications
• Demonstrated interest in television production
• Junior or Senior level standing
Education
• Undergraduate students in their junior/senior year or recent graduates
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
• Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
• Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
• Be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
• The approximate dates of this internship are June 2024 through December 18th
• All candidates must be willing to work 24 hours/week (hours and days to be determined by your supervisor)
• Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the New York, New York area
• Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work in the New York area
