About the Role & ProgramThe ABC Entertainment Casting team is responsible for overseeing the casting process for pilot shows and current programming on ABC. Our team creates a supportive team environment where each member feels comfortable, and we encourage one another to share opinions and thoughts. If selected for this role, you will report directly to the Coordinator of Casting.
What You Will Do
As an intern with the ABC Entertainment Casting team, you will assist with the day-to-day responsibilities of the team. You will assist the department in administrative duties, as well as finding up-and-coming talent. You will have the opportunity to learn about network casting for pilot shows and current programming. You will help the team find new and creative ways to work together with an eye toward quality and efficiency.
Your role may include:
• Assisting in reviewing the casting materials of current and future actors for demo reels.
• Providing support with basic editing for demo reels and other items, using iMovie.
• Supporting current Assistants and Coordinator with light desk and phone coverage.
• Assisting in compiling documents, memos and light scheduling.
• Supporting various talent initiatives such as Actor Audition Workshops and Talent Showcase, with various tasks including scheduling talent auditions, curating lists, and overall general office support.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• A high attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast paced environment
• A familiarity with online short-form media and like genres
• A proven proficiency with both Mac and PC operating systems
• A strong interest in Television and the Entertainment Industry
• Previous experience in entertainment and casting
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with iMovie/iDVD/Final Cut Pro/Adobe Premiere
Education
• Students studying in their Senior year or a recent graduate (applying within six months of graduation)
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:
• Be enrolled in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at time of application posting OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
• Be at least 18 years of age
• Possess unrestricted work authorization
• Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney Internship or Disney College Program
Additional Information
• Able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
• The approximate dates of this internship are August 2024 through December 2024
• Fully available from Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm PT for the duration of the internship, 40 hours each week
• Able to provide own housing for the duration internship program in the Burbank, California area
• Able to provide/have reliable transportation to/from work
