The Job
As an intern of the product design team, you'll focus on our digital news product, which includes all aspects of CNN.com on mobile and desktop web platforms. With a manager mentoring the process, you'll work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment with product management, engineering, editorial, and research teams to create intuitive, feature-rich experiences for our audiences on our mobile web and desktop web platforms. This internship will be located in the Los Angeles area. The selected interns will be expected to join us in the office on a regular cadence based on the intern managers in office schedule.
The Daily
Partnering with a Product Design Mentor, you may participate in some or all of participate in the following:
• Utilize user-centered research, discovery, and design methodologies to define and visualize product-related hypotheses and recommendations
• Participate in discovery workshops, elicit ideas, build a shared understanding, and reinforce the development of use cases and high-level requirements
• Create storyboards, user flows, and wireframes to effectively conceptualize and thoroughly communicate detailed user behaviors
• Conduct light usability research and synthesize feedback into iterative design enhancements
• Analyze user interface problems and prototype design solutions that meet measurable business goals and requirements
• At the end of the internship, present and provide stakeholders of a polished presentation for a specific project assigned at the beginning of the internship
The Essentials
• A portfolio demonstrating a keen interest UX and visual design solutions to real-world cases
• An interest in learning best practices for user experience design, including usability principles, testing techniques, visual design principles, and interaction design
• Interest in working with research, design, and product teams
• Strong communication and analytical skills, including an ability to breakdown complex problems
• Ability to work pro-actively and efficiently in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment
• Proficiency in digital product design/prototyping tools, including Figma
• Must be actively enrolled in a US accredited college or university degree program for the full duration of the internship (proof of enrollment required)
• Must be a rising Junior, Senior or Graduate Student (18 years or older)
• Must be in academic good standing (2.8 or above GPA)
• Must have the legal right to work in the United States. US International students must hold an F1 Visa to be considered

• Experience working with cross-functional partners such as Product Managers & Engineering leads
• Interest in multimedia, business news or national news at the digital level

And finally, what to know before applying:
• The duration of the program is 10-12 weeks dependent on the student's availability based on semester schedule
• Program date options:
• Start Date: June 5th or June 12th
• End Date: August 18th or August 25th
• Interns will be expected to work 35-40 hours per week in a hybrid capacity.
• Our internships are paid opportunities with a competitive hourly wage. Credit is not required; however, we will provide the necessary documentation for school credit if desired. Relocation is not provided.
• Interviewing will take place from February through mid-April. A WBD team member will contact you if your experiences and interests match an open internship position. Due to the high volume of applications, we are unable to give individual status updates.
In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance. The rate listed is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery's total compensation package for employees. Pay Rate: $19 per hour USD for undergrad interns, $25 per hour USD for graduate level interns.
