The Job

Adult Swim Streams Engineering Internship

The Daily

The [adult swim] engineer intern will assist with end-to-end streaming production support which includes:
• in-studio and remote content acquisition
• live and recorded content management
• live encoder management
• network management
• schedule management
• cable management

The Essentials
• Basic knowledge of camcorder-type cameras
• Basic knowledge of various microphones (stick mics, lavaliers, etc)
• Basic knowledge of video connections (HDMI and SDI)
• Basic understanding of all components in a 5.1 (or greater) home theater setup
• Proficiency working on both MacOS and Windows(7 and 10) platforms side-by-side
• Proficiency with updating network settings on both MacOS and Windows (7&10) platforms

Great-to-haves:
• Experience with Blackmagic ATEM switchers
• Experience with Wirecast encoding software
• Experience/knowledge of Elemental Live encoding
• Knowledge of cloud-based CDN delivery via services such as Akamai or AWS/ec2/S3.
• The successful candidate is one who excels in a rapidly changing, demanding, and unpredictable environment while simultaneously being able to support and seek support from a small team.
• The successful candidate will have in-studio experience with camera work, set work, audio mic, and mixer knowledge.
• A precise attention to detail and the ability to learn and retain new information quickly are very big advantages.

Summer 2020 program dates are June 1st through August 7th. Interns are paid a competitive-wage based on location and relocation is not provided. Participation in the internship program is reserved for students who are currently enrolled or within 6 months post-graduation. Most positions are targeted to upperclassmen and graduate students.
