Job Description
Be a part of an innovative team and culture…The Twentieth Television Business Affairs Department negotiates deals and drafts agreements for above-the-line talent (producers, writers, directors, actors and casting directors) and underlying rights for scripted, live-action television programs that Twentieth Television produces for a wide variety of platforms (broadcast, cable and streaming). The Department also provides support for the series, and other departments within the studio (e.g. development, production, finance, legal), and is involved in other ancillary activities.
A Day in the Life…
As an intern, you'll be involved in a variety of exciting projects that will challenge and develop your skills, including
• Drafting of deal memos and short form agreements for above-the-line talent and underlying rights.
• Collaborating with talent representatives and responding to their comments on deal memos and short form agreements.
• Organizing and maintaining internal databases because organization and efficiency are key to successfully managing the high volume of deals the Department handles.
• Creating and updating charts to track the status of agreements and the language used in them, all while using your analytical skills to note opportunities for increased standardization and efficiency.
• Playing the role of an information hub by distributing negotiation updates, closed deals, signed agreements, and other information between different departments as needed.
• Collaborating with executives on strategic projects.
• Supporting our department executives with various tasks. You'll get a chance to work closely and collaboratively with experienced professionals who will guide you along the way.
What we are looking for…
We're seeking highly motivated individuals with a genuine interest in entertainment law, negotiation theory, and the television business. While prior experience in media/entertainment is a plus, it's not a deal-breaker. Here are the basic qualifications we're looking for:
• A strong interest in entertainment law, the television business, and/or negation theory/strategy (relevant coursework is a bonus)
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Outlook is a must and familiarity with OneNote and Excel is highly desirable.
• Exceptional organizational and communication skills are key to thriving in our fast-paced environment.
• The ability to multitask and meet deadlines under time pressure.
• Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively as a part of a team.
• A detailed-oriented approach, even when processing a large volume of documents.
Required Education:
• All students must be pursuing a Juris Doctorate (JD) or LLM degree at an accredited law school and/or a Master's in Business Administration (MBA) or related degree
• Preference shown for students who are in at least the second year of their degree program.

Program Eligibility
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
• Must possess unrestricted work authorization.
• Must provide own relocation, housing and transportation. Position is located in Los Angeles, CA.
• The approximate dates of this internship are January 2024 - May/June 2024.
• Candidate must be available to work part time hours (approximately 24 hours per week) for the duration of the internship.
